DAVE (a.k.a. GMan)

A Bay Area native, Dave is a diverse musician. His extensive talent enables him to play various instruments. He's played saxophone, trombone, and piano, but has stuck to the bass as his key instrument. He is a versatile musician and has played many styles of music including rock, pop, jazz, blues, and R&B.

Dave started playing the bass guitar when he was a teenager, in a band called "DayBreak". Over the years, he's played with many different bands. Some of the bands included the musicians he's currently playing with in The Danny Hansen Band. Larry and EMaree were in a band with Dave back in the 80's. After six years, they all took a break, and Dave even gave up playing for a while, selling all his equipment. In 2003, he got the itch to walk his bass again, so he bought equipment and headed up The Danny Hansen Band with Dan Bassler, the drummer.

Whether playing a sensitive ballad, walking a cool jazz line, or rockin’ out a rhythmic groove, Dave lays down a solid foundation for the band.
