LARRY
Lead Guitar & Songwriter
When you hear Larry play his guitar,it's only obvious that his fingers are SMOKIN'!!
He brings style, dynamics, variety, and alot of talent to the band, including writing.
Originally from the south bay area, Larry began playing as a young teenager in Junior High School. He studied with guitarist, Bud Eastman, founder of the Guitar Player magazine, and with Larry Ray, who was the lead guitarist in the popular local band, “Syndicate of Sound”.
Larry first started in the “Guitar Showcase Guitar Band”, and since then he's had many years of experience playing in various bands, such as:
- "Those Morticians" who played local gigs around Los Gatos;
- "The Lookinglass" was a group of friends from Leigh High School.
- “The John Sharkey - Gayle Zeiler Review”. Larry played bass.
- “L.D. Strayley and the Brownsville Lady”. Larry played bass and guitar.
- “Ovis Ammon” - this was Larry's first experience writing and recording original songs.
- "Miles From Nowhere" - this country band competed in the 1984 Wild Turkey Battle
a;of the Bands in Las Vegas. They took fourth place.
- "EMERALD", with EMaree and GMan of The Danny Hansen Band.
- "Wingit" with friends from high school.
Larry even started-up a mobile D.J. business back in the late '70's. “SoundsAround Productions” was one of the first mobile D.J.’s in the bay area at that time. After four years, Larry decided to play guitar again, as he truly missed playing.
Today, Larry continues to share his talents, and enjoys giggin' with his buddies in
The Danny Hansen Band.
